blue hair in a red state

liking the dip dyed look more now that it has faded with a few shampoos. wish i hadn't used so much dark blue and stuck with more of the teal. next time i'll know what i'm doing.

and man oh man, i haven't updated this blog in a while - ever since going to visit my parents in mississippi a few weeks ago. honestly, it's just cause i took a ton of pictures and am lazy about editing/uploading them + i'm super obsessive about making sure my blog stays chronologically correct with photos since m and i often use this as a reference to "what month was it that we took that trip to..." or "when was it that we did..."

anyway, guess i'll just start from the most current and work my way backwards to catch up so things'll probably show up all out of order in your feed. (not sure why i feel this disclaimer is necessary)

dip dyed hair

at first i didn't like the blue too much and described it to m as a little too girls-who-listen-to-tori-amos-and-draw-fairies-while-going-to-renaissance-fairs-once-a-month which is a type i seem to remember floating around livejournal way way back in my first years of college days. as it starts to fade though, i'm kind of digging it's high school goth/kool aid dye job vibe.

m thinks one of the guys at pita pit has a crush on me. i think he's just nice because i eat there all the time. either way's cool with me cause i sure don't mind the $1 off coupon even when i forget mine.

i'm not completely sold on the return of boot cut jeans into my wardrobe, but i'm gradually letting them sneak back in. still in total lust with my high waist skinnies, but it's a nice change of pace. also having a bad face day in all these photos. etc etc etc...

scrappy

while we were in mississippi, i took some time on the 11 hour car drive and some of the slow moments we had to stitch up a few cowls from some bits of scrap yarn i've had around for ages. i've been into yarn blending lately and coming up with new textures and color combos - it's always interesting to see how they'll turn out. i really like the first one with its rainbow effect. the second isn't truly scraps, just yarn i've never done anything with, but i also love it's subtle effect from all the different shades of blue and purple.










they're both available in my shop, of course.

rum berry PUNCH!

back when m and i were supposed to go on our first non-date after i told him i "just wanted to be friends" he was supposed to make us a batch of rum berry punch to fill in flasks while we went to some festival or another. it got rained out and we ended up going to a film crawl and bar hopping and crawling on top of each other on my front porch at 2am. pretty good first non-date. since then it's always been a running joke about how i never got that rum berry punch, but finally...





has almost a full bottle o' rum in that pitcher. PUNCH! BAM! POW! WEEEE!
